If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Site. These Terms apply to all visitors, students, parents, and healthcare professionals who access or use our platform.

2. About Our Service

Student Shadow Match is a matching platform that connects high school students who are interested in exploring healthcare careers with verified healthcare professionals who have volunteered to host shadowing experiences. We facilitate the connection but are not a party to the shadowing experience itself.

3. Eligibility

To use our platform as a student, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in high school

  • Have parental or guardian consent if you are under the age of 18

  • Provide accurate and complete information in your submission

 

To use our platform as a healthcare professional, you must:

​

  • Be a licensed and actively practicing healthcare professional

  • Provide accurate information about your credentials, specialty, and affiliation

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies regarding student visitors

4. User Responsibilities

All users agree to:

  • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information

  • Use the platform only for its intended purpose

  • Treat all parties with professionalism and respect

  • Not misrepresent their identity, credentials, or intentions

  • Not use the platform for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose

 

Healthcare professionals additionally agree to:

​

  • Comply with all applicable HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements during any shadowing experience

  • Ensure students are properly oriented to the clinical environment before any shadowing begins

  • Not ask students to perform any clinical tasks or duties

5. Parental Consent

Because our platform serves high school students, many of whom are minors, parental or guardian consent is required for students under the age of 18. By submitting a shadow request on behalf of a minor, the parent or guardian acknowledges and agrees to these Terms on the student's behalf.

6. Matching and Confirmation

Student Shadow Match facilitates matches between students and healthcare professionals based on submitted information. We do not guarantee a match will be made or that a shadowing experience will occur. All matches are subject to availability and the discretion of the healthcare professional.

7. Limitation of Liability

Student Shadow Match is a platform that facilitates connections. We are not responsible for:

  • The conduct of any student or healthcare professional during a shadowing experience

  • Any injury, loss, or damage that occurs during or as a result of a shadowing experience

  • The accuracy of information provided by users

  • The cancellation or modification of a scheduled shadowing experience

 

By using our platform, you agree that Student Shadow Match, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or participation in a shadowing experience.

8. Privacy

Your use of our Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Student Shadow Match website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Student Shadow Match and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
